The smoke is not proof that you have lost your way. It is what the problem produces when it wants every choice to look equally urgent.
Emperor, the goal has not changed.
What you decided you wanted is still there. But between the decision and the destination, there is terrain—and the terrain is testing whether you will continue as the person who made the decision or retreat into the identity you were trying to leave.
You are not being asked how badly you want it anymore.
Now you are being shown what you reach for when wanting it becomes uncomfortable.
Do you preserve your position?
Or do you return to the old move because it once helped you survive?
The problem produces smoke.
A real problem carries weight. When that weight enters your life, it produces smoke around the decision.
Suddenly, everything appears urgent.
Every expense looks necessary. Every person looks important. Every offer looks like an opportunity. Every fear demands an immediate answer.
That is how one problem becomes five apparent problems.
But the multiplication is an illusion.
The smoke has not removed your power. It has hidden the next move.
The sequence is:
Problem → Smoke → Confusion of Choice → No Decision → Stagnancy
The original problem creates pressure.
Pressure fills the board with options.
Too many options create confusion.
Confusion prevents a clean decision.
And when you do not decide, you become stagnant.
That stagnancy is dangerous because it makes whatever—or whoever—is standing closest appear necessary.
